A Look At Dvd & Cd Duplication
By Barney North
As new technology makes way for the latest in innovations, DVD and CD duplication have long been extremely popular. From making copies of family videos to creating your own audio CD for distribution, the ability to copy digital audio and video is necessary for both personal and business use.

When speaking of DVD and CD duplication, it is important to realize what is and is not acceptable in terms of duplication. Films and audio CDs, which are under copyright protection, may not be duplicated in any way without written consent from those responsible for their creation. Ignoring this law could carry serious penalties, including stiff fines and possible jail time. With that being said, enjoying DVD and CD duplication the right way can be a wonderful asset to your home and your business.

Before getting started with either DVD or CD duplication, you must first attempt to determine how you will be using your digital masterpiece. Do you ever plan to erase the contents or will they be left on the disc permanently? If you ever plan to erase and record over a specific video, you will need to purchase a DVD-RW disc. If you are working with CD duplication and plan to later erase the contents, you will need to purchase a CD-RW disc. The ‘RW’ abbreviation stands for ‘Re-writable’ and it simply means that the disc can be erased and recorded on multiple times. A DVD-R or CD-R disc may only be used for recording and can never be erased.

DVD duplication is an ideal way to share memories, videos and special occasions with multiple family members. Using your master

copy, you can record new DVDs for family members who may not have been present to witness the special event, which may include a wedding, graduation, family reunion or other gathering. In order to do this, you will need a DVD recorder, which can easily be found at any electronics store. You can also work with CD duplication on a DVD recorder or your own personal computer if it features a recordable drive. In many cases, CD duplication is used by amateur musicians who need to find an affordable way of recreating copies of their music and distributing it to agents, record labels and managers.

DVD and CD duplication is a terrific way to preserve and share your memories or it may be the first step in launching your music or movie career. If you are an amateur filmmaker, DVD duplication may be your link to the big screen. The most important thing to remember is that copyright laws must not be violated and any material that you duplicate must be your own and not, in any way, under the ownership of anyone else.
