If you have not heard about dualit coffee maker, it is not surprising. The truth is, in terms of visibility and market share, it is definitely not as big as Bunn coffee machines.

However, I am very sure you would see those shiny toasters that churn out slices after slices of golden crispy pieces of toasts. Well, those are the famous toaster from them, in fact, there are quite a number of "me too" in the market modeling after their success.

So, the truth is people that goes for coffee brewer from this brand usually look for it after trying one of their products and generally it would be their toaster. Sure, this is not a Mr Coffee or a Bunn machine, but let me assure you that its quality is on par if not better than these 2 companies.

Known for its quality products, they are now focusing totally on just 2 types of coffee machines, espresso maker and percolator makers. I understand that sometime back, they do have the usual drip filter coffee maker, but probably due to intense competition and below average sales, and they have decided to exit this genre of machines.

I know that folks reading this would be wondering if percolator is enjoying better sales than drip filter, since there not many people out there that drink perk coffee. Well, I do not have the hard data, but I do know that although the demand is low, the competition for this genre of brewer is even lower!

Anyway, we are not here to discuss about their marketing strategy. My job is to highlight a good brewer from dualit and my choice would be the 84009 espresso coffee maker. Well, a person that follows my article knows that I am not very partial person, and I always award higher marks for machines that look good.

And this machine with its metallic sheen and the classic design (that what I thought espresso maker should look like), is what caught my eyes first. Then for those that are into interior design, silver is one of the easiest to match with any kitchen theme and decor and this is why this fellow would score high marks in the "looks" department.

Now, if you are getting a machine that does espresso, the very basic criterion is to have a strong pressure when you are pulling a shot. The minimum I feel is good for a good shot is 12 bar. Of course, the 84009 model can generate better than 12 bars, which means

that you are assure of a good espresso.

A note on all the folks that are thinking of buying espresso brewers, if you want to look for a machine that can give good extraction, go for one with the higher pressure. Usually those that are pump driven gives better extraction than steam driven machine.

This dualit coffee maker fulfills what we know as the basic criteria for a good machine, but is there anything special, other value adds that would compel one to purchase this machine.

With good extraction, you are assured of a good espresso, but at times you might want to prepare other gourmet coffee, like latte or cappuccino. So, if you want to do that, a frother is very important.

Well, if I can featured it here, it means that this 84009 model from has the ability to produce good gourmet coffee and of course it is not difficult to do so.

There you have it folks, a brewer that is not well known but one that does good coffee.
